SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 5, 2015) – East Tennessee State University volleyball player Khadijah Wiley (Columbus, Ga.) has been named the SoCon Defensive Player of the Month as announced by the league office Monday morning.
Wiley has been a force at the net for ETSU this season. She recorded 62 blocks for a per-set average of 1.62 during the month of September, helping lead the Bucs to a 10-3 record for the month. Wiley registered a pair of nine-block performances in September, including one against Clemson on Sept. 11.
The Columbus, Ga. native, who earned SoCon defensive player of the week honors for Sept. 21, ranks in the top 10 nationally in total blocks with 80 on the season and in the top 25 in blocks per set with a 1.38 average. She is sixth among active Division I players with 445 blocks for her career.
Wiley and the rest of the Bucs will be back in action Friday when they travel to Samford for an 8 p.m. tilt.
