SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 5, 2015) – East Tennessee State University volleyball player Briana Allmon (Flower Mound, Texas) has been named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week. The honor, which was released by league officials Monday, is ETSU’s second weekly honor this season.
The Flower Mound, Texas native posted a 16-kill performance against UNCG on Sept. 30. In addition to her 16 kills, she hit .500 with just one attack error. The .500 hitting percentage ties the highest mark for an ETSU player this season. Allmon also had 12 digs against the Spartans to notch her fifth double-double of the season. In her second match of the week against Mercer, Allmon hit .370 with 13 kills in 27 attempts to go along with six digs.
Allmon has reached double-digits in the kill category in 11 of the team’s 17 matches so far and leads ETSU with 205 kills (3.53 kills per set). She has also aided in the Bucs’ defense ranking fourth on the team averaging 2.17 digs per set (126 overall).
Allmon along with the rest of the Bucs will return to action Friday when they travel to Birmingham, Ala. to take on Samford at 8 p.m.
