JONESBOROUGH, TN. WJHL– Thousands are expected to make their way to Tennessee’s oldest town this weekend to listen to master storytellers from around the world.
The festival draws thousands of visitors from across the country to enjoy the art of storytelling and oral traditions. Various storytellers from around the world have traveled to Jonesborough to entertain the crowds with their stories…
Organizers say that despite the rain… Attendance at the 43rd annual storytelling festival has actually increased by five percent this year. International Storytelling Center President- Kiran Singh Sirah said “about 11 thousand people have registered”. He continued, “I think that if people love storytelling- rain, shine, no matter what they get here because they love storytelling”.
They expect the international storytelling center in Jonesborough to be packed with people who want some relief from the rain — as well as great entertainment. The festival continues until Sunday.
