KPD search for woman indicted on DUI, assault, reckless endangerment charges

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – Kingsport Police Departments officers are searching for a woman who was indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury on DUI, assault and reckless endangerment charges.

Investigators said following her indictment earlier this month, Betty Prater, 44, is no where to be found.

Police said Prater is aware of the arrest warrant is her name.

Prater’s indictment is the result of an ongoing crash investigation where police said her car crossed the center line on Bloomingdale Pike earlier this year and slammed into another car.

TBI Crime Lab results of Prater’s blood samples following the crash revealed she tested positive for what police are calling multiple intoxicants.

If you know where Prater is, call Kingsport Police at 224-2750.
