Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Unveils 2015-16 Schedule

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women’s Basketball Team, under the direction of second-year Head Coach Anne Crutchfield, has completed its schedule for the 2015-16 campaign. This year, the Wasps will play in two different tournaments over Christmas Break after opening the season with a string of games against regional foes.

“This year’s schedule will provide us with challenges every night. Our early season contests will go a long way in helping us prepare for what is always a tough ODAC season,” said Crutchfield.

Emory & Henry will begin play with an exhibition game at Radford University on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. The Wasps and Highlanders last met in exhibition prior to the 2013-14 season.

E&H opens the regular season at on Saturday, November 14 when it travels to face The University of the South at 6:00 p.m. The Wasps remain on the road on Tuesday, November 17 when it visits Meredith College for a 7:00 p.m. contest.

The first home contest for Emory & Henry will be on Saturday, November 21 against Wesleyan (Ga.) College with tipoff set for 4:30 p.m. The Wasps open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Tuesday, November 24 at Randolph College and will have their first home conference game against the Hornets of Shenandoah University on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m.

Christmas Break provides two tournaments for the Wasps. First up is the Las Vegas Hoopla in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, December 20 and Monday, December 21. The Wasps will play against the University of Scranton and Goucher College on those two days.

On Saturday, January 2 and Sunday, January 3 Emory & Henry will host the second annual Comfort Inn Holiday Tournament. The Wasps will open play against the Scotties of Agnes Scott College on January 2 at 4:30 p.m., and will play either North Carolina Wesleyan College on the University of Pikeville in the final day of the tournament Sunday.

Emory & Henry jumps into the heart of its conference schedule on Wednesday, January 6 against Hollins University, playing ODAC teams in the 14 of the final 15 games of the year.

The 2016 ODAC Tournament is set for the week of February 22 through February 28. The First Round will be played at the 5-8 seeds while the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Championship will be held at the Salem Civic Center.
