Teenager dies in rollover crash on Hwy 75

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened early Sunday morning in Washington County.

According to a Lieutenant with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Bowmantown Road and Old Stagecoach Road.

Investigators with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Hunter Thacker, 17, was speeding on Highway 75 when he lost control going around a curve. THP said the car slid across the road, off an embankment, through two barbed wire fences, and then rolled over ejecting Thacker. The teen was killed in the crash.

According to THP, there was alcohol in Thacker’s system at the time of the crash and he was not wearing a seat belt.
