JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a woman Sept. 11, following an investigation into a May 22 report that checks had been deposited into an account from a closed account.
According to a JCPD news release, Eastman Credit Union called the police department about the transaction and said the money was then withdrawn from an ATM.
Wanda Strong, 37, 509 Woodhaven Drive, was identified as the person depositing the check and withdrawing the money.
Strong was arrested and charged with theft over $1,000.
She was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held on $10,000 bond pending her arraignment in Sessions Court Sept. 14.
