JCPD officers arrest man on hindering secured creditor charges

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man Tuesday on hindering a secured creditor charges.

According to a JCPD news release, Tennessee Title Loans called the police department on April 16 about a secured loan the business had with James Riano, 38, 109 Oscar Banks Road.

The title loan company said they had tried to get payment from Riano since March, but said they were not able to locate him or the property he used as collateral.

Riano was arrested Tuesday and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $1,000 bond.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Sept. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
