JCPD: Man charged with selling jewelry stolen from home

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department investigators arrested a man Wednesday, following an investigation into jewelry taken from a home on Kipping Street.

According to a JCPD news release, Richard Dugger, 32, 2420 Vines Street, was performing construction work at the home when several pieces of custom made gold jewelry – valued at $5,000 – were taken.

An investigation revealed that Dugger sold the jewelry at various gold dealers in the city and a majority of the items were recovered.

Dugger was arrested and charged with theft of property over $1,000.

He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $5,000 bond.

Dugger was scheduled for arraignment in Sessions Court Friday at 10:30 a.m.
