GLADE SPRING, VA (WJHL) – Fire crews responded to the scene of a structure fire in Southwest Virginia Wednesday.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Ricky Stumbo, Meadowview, Clinch Mountain and Glade Spring fire departments, as well as the Glade Spring Life Saving Crew responded to a trailer fire 9381 Partridge Drive in Meadowview.

Stumbo said brush trucks from all responding agencies were used to assist because the double-wide trailer is located in the woods on a gravel road.

The trailer was destroyed and crews remain on scene for overhaul operations.

Stumbo said people inside the trailer were using a deep fryer in the kitchen. All of the occupants inside the trailer were able to get out safely when the fire started and the American Red Cross is assisting the family.
