Checker-Neyland returns for Vols first home game

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – It’s official. Checkerboard Neyland is back for its second year.

University of Tennessee Head Coach Butch Jones said fans will #CheckerNeyland September 12 when the Volunteers play Oklahoma. Jones said fans can visit the website to see if they will wear orange they will wear white.

A group of fans designed the website when the Volunteers played Florida last year. Fans can visit the website, enter their seat and row and the website will tell fans what color to wear on game day.


The Vols play the Bowling Green Falcons Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Jones is encouraging fans to fill Nissan Stadium and says he looks at the Nashville game as a way to reward fans in the middle portion of Tennessee.
