Big changes are in store for the Disabled American Veterans Chapter in Bristol, Tennessee.
Just a few weeks ago construction started on an expansion of the current facility off of Carden Hollow Rd.
So far they have raised more than $9,000 for the addition, receiving money from community members and local businesses.
Commander Michael Harman says they will be more than doubling the size of the facility adding private rooms and expanding the chapter hall.
Right now there are 292 members who are a part of this DAV chapter in Bristol.
Harmon says on average they see 5 to 6 veterans every day, helping them with everything from disability and compensation claims to helping widowed spouses.
The DAV hopes to have a grand re-opening sometime in the next few months.
