Johnson City Police arrest a man that’s wanted in Southwest Virginia

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – On Thursday, August 27, Johnson City Police arrested 56 year old Barry Hankins of Johnson City, after police found he had a warrant in Tazewell County, Virginia.

Officers say they were investigating a separate incident when Hankins was found to be a witness.

According to police, they discovered Hankins had a warrant in Virginia when they entered his information into the system for a separate case.

Police have charged Hankins with being a fugitive from justice.

He is currently at the Washington County Detention Center, and will appear in court August 28.
