Johnson City woman charged with July vehicle theft

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a woman Monday, following an investigation into a report of a motor vehicle theft on July 27.

According to a JCPD news release, the July report accused Teena Louise Hopson, 50, 214 Hillcrest Drive, of Johnson City, of stealing a vehicle from a home in Johnson City.

Hopson was reportedly found in possession of the stolen vehicle when she was arrested for allegedly committing crimes in Morganton County, N.C. that same day.

Hopson was charged with theft of property over $10,000 and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.

She was being held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
