Memphis City Council votes to remove Nathan Bedford Forrest statue from public park

The statue of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest may be coming down from a public park in Memphis

The city council voted to remove the statue.   It may not be that easy.  The final decision on the statue may need to come from the

state historical commission.  The Rebel General has been under scrutiny for his role as a slave trader and early Ku Klux Klan

member prior to his death in 1877.
