Police: pharmacy robber used Calamine lotion to mask identity

Just before 1 p.m., Kingsport Police said Christopher J. Fox tried to rob the CVS Pharmacy on West Stone Drive after covering his face with Calamine lotion.

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL)  Police in Kingsport arrested a man who they say tried to rob a pharmacy while using an unusual method of disguising his face.

Just before 1 p.m., Kingsport Police said Christopher J. Fox tried to rob the CVS Pharmacy on West Stone Drive after covering his face with Calamine lotion.

Police released this photo of Fox taken after he was arrested trying to leave the scene of the robbery in a taxi cab. Despite threatening store employees that he had a gun, police said Fox left the store empty handed.

Prior to the robbery, Police said Fox called in a bogus bomb threat to the Kingsport Town Center Mall.

Fox was out on bond awaiting trial on charges he and three others tried to rob the same CVS pharmacy this past May.

Police charged him with aggravated robbery and false reporting by making a bomb threat.
