Earning for Learning gets local schools big bucks

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Shopping in Johnson City could mean big bucks for some area schools.

The Mall at Johnson City is once again holding its Earning for Learning promotion, which will award a total of $25,000 to five schools.

From August 3rd to September 27th, 2015, customers can take their receipt from any mall store or restaurant to the Guest Services Center on the lower level, and each dollar spent will be a point earned for the school of their choice.

At the end of the program the top five schools with the highest dollar per student ratio will win cash prizes! Select stores will be posted weekly for DOUBLE POINTS on purchases from those particular stores. Purchase a mall gift card and receive TRIPLE POINTS!

The total number of points for each school is divided by the number of students enrolled in the school, with a minimum number of 400.  Enrollment numbers are provided by area schools. This produces a dollar per student ratio. The top five schools with the highest dollar per student ratio win!

“People will use the funds that they win for everything from technology to athletic needs,” says the mall’s marketing director, Brandi Woodall.

If you have any questions or your school is interested in participating in the 2015 Earning for Learning program, you can contact the The Mall at Johnson City at (423) 282-2830.
