BLACKSBURG, VA –Over in Blacksburg, they continue prep for what could very well be an under the radar type success story. At least that’s what everyone in Maroon and Orange is looking for.
The Virginia Tech offense should be better if the running backs stay healthy and Michael Brewer improves his consistency at quarterback, but the defensive unit should anchor the team once again.
Led by Preseason All-American Kendall Fuller and a number of other ACC nominees, the Hokies might just be back to Beamer Ball in 2015.
“I’m eager for us to put this team together and see where it goes,” said Head Coach Frank Beamer. “Injuries is always a key deal, but I like the team, I like the leadership, I like a lot of things right now. It’s never been better.”
“It’s getting sharp again, getting back to the basics,” said defensive tackle Corey Marshall. “Coach Foster wanted to stress the fundamentals today, and that’s what we tried to get after.”
Tech tees it up with Ohio State at Lane Stadium a month from Monday. The Buckeyes actually don’t have their first work out until Monday.
