Emergency crews rescued two kayakers near the Russell Fork Gorge on the Virginia Kentucky border Sunday morning.
Two men from Lexington and West Van Lear Kentucky went kayaking around 8:00 last night in the Towers Area of Breaks Interstate Park.
The girlfriend of one of the men grew concerned when she had not heard from them for quite some time.
Dickenson County Virginia Dispatch notified Breaks Park Law Enforcement about the missing men.
At around 11:30 Saturday night the men were able to call authorities using a cell phone.
They told officers that they had exited the river safely.
Virginia State Police used a cell phone tracking system to find the kayakers exact location.
The two men were found at 9:00 am Sunday in an extremely rugged inaccessible area of the park.
More than a dozen agencies took part in the rescue effort.
