Carter County leaders are giving residents a chance to speak out about a budget shortfall in the county that could lead to the closing of two emergency management stations.
Monday night at 6, the county will hold a regularly scheduled budget meeting, but several residents told news channel 11, they plan on showing up to voice their concerns about EMS funding.
Recently Carter County EMS Director Terry Arnold announced he would close both Roan Mountain and Hampton stations because there was not enough funding.
At Monday night’s meeting leaders could pass a resolution to help fund Carter County EMS which would prevent the need to close the two stations.
If the resolution passes Monday night, it would still have to pass the full Carter County Commission later on this month.
