Greene County hires new EMS director

GREENE COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Greene County officials hired a new Emergency Medical Services Director.

According to Mayor David Crum, a motion was accepted to hire Conrad “Chuck” Kearns as director of the department.

Since March, Tommy Crowder served as interim director after the former director, Robert Sayne, retired from the role.

According to the University of South Florida- St. Petersburg’s website, Kearns has more than 30 years experience in public safety and EMS.

He began his career in lifesaving as a Florida open water lifeguard in 1981. Over the years, he’s served in various leadership roles in emergency services. Kearns is currently the president of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians Board of Directors, according to the USFSP’s website.
