ROGERSVILLE (WATE) – A man has been arrested in Hawkins County after a clerk told officers he demanded the money the secret service owed him for taking down terrorists.
Derrick Dalton Goins, 22, was arrested Thursday afternoon for attempted robbery and aggravated stalking. At 12:08 p.m. the Rogersville Police Department was dispatch to US Bank, located at 44016 Highway 66 South, for a man causing a disturbance.
A clerk told officers Goins wanted two bags of money and the rest of the money in his account for a debt he believed was owed to him by the secret service. He told the clerk to call police and tell them he was robbing the bank and said he was going to get his money “one way or another.”
By the time police arrived at US Bank, Goins had already left, but Hawkins County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate his White Ford Ranger traveling South on Highway 66. They stopped him on McKinney Chapel Road and took him into custody.
