Washington County, Tenn. (WJHL) – For the first time since allegations of hazing surfaced, members of the David Crockett high school football team are speaking out.

We first told you about the allegations earlier this week. News Channel 11 learned David Crockett high school was investigating reports that upper classmen on the football team subjected several freshmen to a form of hazing.

Washington County Superintendent Ron Dykes said two students have been remanded to an alternative school until a hearing shortly after the start of the school year.

At David Crockett media day Saturday, Coach Jeremy Bosken defended his players. He said, “I can’t have any comments on anything that has happened. All I know is that the guys we have suited up here are guys you’d want to date your daughters, and if I couldn’t say that with the utmost confidence, they wouldn’t be out here with us. I love these kids to death with all my heart, and I’d do anything for them.”

“It’s been really frustrating, but in times like these we have to be great leaders, and in times like these leaders need to separate themselves from the pack. These past few months and past few weeks have been kind of frustrating, but at the same time it’ll be like, ‘What are we made of? What kind of team will we be?’ It’s been really confusing,” said David Crocket H.S. Quarterback Ryan Burger.

The football players have not been suspended, but Dykes told News Channel 11 he suspects that might change once the investigation is complete.
