Dogs and cats in Sullivan County have a new place to stay until they find their forever home.

The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue held its grand opening off Highway 75 in Blountville Saturday.  The rescue holds more than 100 dogs and cats.

At the shelter, officials hope they can save homeless animals and ensure a forever home.

“We want to show our youth coming up there are alternatives to euthanizing,” said Volunteer Regina Isenberg.

To pay back the loan on the new facility, the shelter will be boarding animals.

The shelter is open seven days a week, from 12:30pm to 6:30pm.
