Big fireworks shows coming to Sullivan County

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN- Fireworks fans, the fourth is finished but you can still get another big fireworks fix this year.

The National Fireworks Association’s international convention is coming to Kingsport for the first time September 7th through 12th.

That means some big fireworks shows at Thunder Valley in Bristol Friday and Saturday, September 11th and 12th.

“Both nights are going to be spectacular because on 9/11 you’ll be seeing products, companies that come and show their new products for the retailers and wholesalers,” Sam Jones, area coordinator for the National Fireworks Association, said.

Jones said on Friday they hope to have the largest 9/11 remembrance ceremony in our region.

Friday and Saturday there will be shows of the best fireworks from competing companies, all open to the public.

You can get tickets at the gate for 10 dollars a car.

Jones said a portion of the proceeds will go to Speedway Children’s Charities.

He said they are expecting thousands to come from all around the world to our region for the convention.
