Mountain States Health Alliance is taking extra security measures after a threat at one of its hospitals, a spokeswoman told News Channel 11.
According to the hospital spokeswoman, a potential threat was identified Friday evening at Johnson City Medical Center.
Just before 11:00 PM Friday, the hospital went into full facility lockdown. Patients, staff and visitors were only allowed to enter and exit through the emergency department, according to officials.
The spokeswoman said while the lockdown was lifted around 10:00 am Saturday, they continue to have increased security until further notice.
The hospital spokeswoman could not say what the potential threat was, but that they are working closely with law enforcement.
We will continue to follow this developing story.
