KINGSPORT, Tenn. — In 25 years, the Crazy 8’s road race has made quite a name for itself.
It’s owned the men’s and women’s world records for the distance and brought runners from across the globe. Saturday night, they hit the road in Kingsport once again.
There would be no record on this night, but we crowned two new champions anyway.
On the men’s side, and the first one overall across the tape was Kenya’s Cleophas Ngetich. He kicked it in for a 22:28, five seconds better than his personal best.
For the ladies, our champion is from just across the mountain. Lenoir, North Carolina’s Cassie Graves took the win with a 29:30.
