A boat made out of cardboard… sounds like it would sink. But some boaters in Kingsport proved that theory wrong.
Eight teams paddled their way across Kingsport Aquatic Center’s indoor pool, Saturday.
Some teams didn’t quite make it- but others like Jackson and David Osterhus said they’ve learned a trick or two after racing five years in a row.
“The key to a good boat is water tight seams. It doesn’t matter what you paint it with, as long as you get the cardboard seams water tight, you’re in good shape,” David said.
Not only could you earn an award for winning the race, but being the best at sinking and the best-dressed.
