One shot during argument over dog, investigators say

An argument between neighbors lands one of them in jail.  Investigators said a fight over a dog led to a shooting in Unicoi County.


Sheriff Mike Hensley said Randy Jones, 53, and Norman White, both live off Sneyd Lane.

Investigators said during the argument Wednesday afternoon, Jones went into his home and came back outside with a gun.

“He shot approximately four times, with a .22 semi-automatic pistol, striking Mr. White. Mr. White has been transported to the Johnson City Medical Center where he will have to undergo surgery,” Sheriff Hensley said.

Detectives said White was shot in the hand.

Jones is charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder.
