Evolve deal dissolved; JC Chamber reviewing options for General Mills

Back in June 2016, Summers-Taylor, Inc. entered into a sales contract with the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce to purchase the General Mills building, also known as the Model Mill, according to company president Grant Summers.

The Johnson City, Jonesborough and Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation accepted Evolve Development’s notice of termination for the contract of sale for the General Mills property Wednesday.

According to a news release, Evolve had planned a multi-family housing development for the General Mills site.

“I have notified Evolve Development that the chamber foundation has accepted their notice of termination and that the agreement to sell the old General Mills property is dissolved and terminated,” Gary Mabrey, chamber president, said. “We can now review the deals that our real estate firm, TCI, has received over the past few months and actively market the property for sale again.”
