JCPD: Woman to face multiple charges following Walmart shoplifting

Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a Gray woman Tuesday, after report of shoplifting at Walmart, 2915 W. Market St. in Johnson City.

According to a JCPD news release, officers were called to the store around 5:50 p.m., where loss prevention employees said they made contact with Crystal Hines-Frady, 31, 381 Possum Hollow Road.

Loss prevention employees reportedly approached Hines-Frady to confront her about the shoplifting and she became violent, scratched and bit the employees to get away.

According to the release, around $508 worth of merchandise was recovered and it was also discovered that she had been previously trespassed from Walmart

The loss prevention employees injured during the incident were evaluated by medical staff at the scene for minor injuries.

Hines-Frady was charged with shoplifting over $500, aggravated criminal trespassing, two counts of simple assault and two counts of criminal exposure.

She was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held on $10,000 bond.

Hines-Frady was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
