Authorities searching for sex offender in Southwest Virginia

RUSSELL COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – A reward of $500 is being offered for information that leads to the apprehension of a missing sex offender in Southwest Virginia.


United States Marshal Woody McGlothlin confirmed the Russell County, Virginia, Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals are searching for Teddy Strouth, 21.


He has a warrant for a probation violation but also is accused of violating the Virginia Sex Offender Registry by not keeping his address current.

Strouth also has a warrant in Tazewell County, according to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.

His location is not currently known, McGlothin said.

According to the Virginia State Police sex offender website, Strouth was convicted in 2012 of taking indecent liberties with children.

Anyone with information about Strouth was asked to call the Russell County Sheriff’s Office at 276-889-8033 or 276-889-8055. Anonymous tips can be left by text or message at 276-415-0103.
