Man to face multiple charges after evading police for traffic stop (Image 1)

Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a Church Hill man Friday, after evading police during a traffic stop on Interstate 26.

According to a JCPD news release, officers tried to pull over Tyler W. Shanks, 20, 163 Morning Star Road, for a speeding violation, but Shanks did not stop.

Officers discontinued to the traffic stop, but located Shanks a short time later behind a closed business.

Shanks was charged with evading arrest, driving on a suspended license, unlawful drug paraphernalia, speeding and financial responsibility.

He was taken to Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $12,000 bond.

Shanks was scheduled to have a preliminary court date Friday in Sessions Court.
