A man was arrested Tuesday on theft and vandalism charges, after a missing Cadillac Escalade was found partially submerged in the Holston River.
According to a Church Hill Police Department news release, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to Christians Bend boat ramp around 3:50 a.m., where they found the vehicle.
The owner of the 2008 Cadillac Escalade was located at her home by Church Hill Police Department and she told officers that she had left her purse with a spare set of keys in her vehicle when she went home around 11 p.m. June 1.
Tyler Reece Denison, 19, 141 Pine St., was developed as a suspect and he was brought into the CHPD police station for questioning.
Denison refused to answer questions without an attorney present and Church Hill police arrested and charged him with theft over $10,000 and vandalism over $10,000.
He was taken to the Hawkins County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
