Church Hill Police Department arrested three people connected to a burglary reported at Volunteer High School Friday.

According to a CHPD news release, officers responded to VHS Friday around 3 p.m., after a burglary occurred at the school around 2:30 a.m., where they discovered the suspects – Jeremy Austin Byrd, 19, of Church Hill, Harley Dalton Davis, 19, of Kingsport, and Jonathon Allen Hillman, 18 of Mount Carmel – had entered the school through an exterior door in a classroom.

Byrd, Davis and Hillman were developed as suspects after officers reviewed surveillance footage from the school.

According to the release, the video shows the men walking through the school and going into several classrooms.

Items taken from the school included an Apple iPad, a wireless Apple mouse, a Hitachi USB, a gray polo shirt and a yellow lanyard. Police said all items taken have since been recovered and returned to VHS.

Byrd, Davis and Hillman were each charged with burglary and theft under $500.
