New ETSU basketball coach Steve Forbes picked another recruit when Shemar Johnson from Columbus, Mississippi signed a national letter of intent.
The 6-6 guard/forward was also being pursued by Murray State, Southern Illinois and Tennessee Tech.
This past season Johnson averaged 16.3 points and he helped his team to a 21-8 record.
Johnson who’s able to play inside and out, says signing with ETSU was a dream come true.
Johnson joins Nigel Holley, transfer Peter Jurkin and junior college transfer T.J. Cromer as members of the Buccaneers 2014-15 recruiting class.
