A man featured in the reality television show “Southern Justice” continues to elude the justice system in Washington and Carter Counties.
James Kirby Fry is wanted for failure to appear in court on charges of aggravated robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, schedule II drugs for resale and possession of schedule III and schedule IV drugs.
Fry’s case appeared on the Discovery Channel’s “Southern Justice” program as a production crew profiled the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and accompanied deputies who were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at “intimate Treasures”.
Investigators said Fry had a gun and was about to rob the store when a customer tackled him. Fry escaped before deputies arrived.
But he left behind his car and his cell phone.
In the car, deputies said they found cocaine and other drugs and several stolen items including gold Krugerrand coins, one valued at approximately $10,000.
Investigators identified Fry after someone called his cell phone found inside “Intimate Treasures.” He was arrested at a home owned by his family, WCSO Investigator Nicki Salyer said. Fry made bond and hasn’t been seen since.
