The judge denied the motion to transfer Daniel Birchfield-Richards to adult court for the charges he faces in connection to the death of Robert Blanchard, who was found shot to death in his home earlier this year.
Birchfield-Richards’ next hearing in Greene County Juvenile Court is Jan. 8 at 1 p.m.
A hearing on whether Daniel Birchfield-Richards will to be transferred to adult court or be tried as a juvenile in the shooting death of Robert Blanchard will resume on Friday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. in Greene County Juvenile Court.
Birchfield-Richards was one of three teens connected in the April shooting. They were all found in South Carolina and taken back to Tennessee.
This next hearing is actually the fourth continuation of Birchfield-Richards’ transfer determination hearing.
Zachary Blanchard, the son of Robert Blanchard, has already been transferred to adult court on a first-degree murder charge in the case.
Birchfield-Richards faces a charge of accessory after the fact in the case.
Two others, Liam Lawlor and Shelby Riley, were sentenced in juvenile court earlier this year on charges of accessory after the fact and theft in the case.
