Vehicle burglaries spike this time of year as people pack valuables into their cars and, sometimes, get careless leaving the cars unlocked.
But Monday’s Most Wanted is accused of taking something other than a purse or Christmas packages.
The Elizabethton Police Department is trying to find the person who broke into a Nissan 240SX and literally stole the interior of the car.
Gone from the vehicle are the steering wheel, the seat, even part of the dashboard.
The damage is estimated at $3,500.
The car was parked outside Southeast Used Cars on West Elk Avenue on the night of November 8th.
“The victims are now wishing to offer a $5,000 reward,” said Elizabethton Police Captain Joy Shoun. “This reward will be paid to any individuals who assist in identifying, arresting, prosecuting and convicting the subjects that are involved with this particular case.”
