The Russell County Medical Center Foundation will host its fifth annual fundraiser, this year with a theme of “Guitars & Good Times,” on Friday, June 20, at the Russell County Conference Center, featuring the popular country/Americana band Folk Soul Revival.
Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 per single or $60 per couple and are available for purchase at RCMC and First Bank & Trust’s Lebanon branches. The will raise funds for an educational symposium to address adolescent mental health issues in the community.
“Guitars & Good Times” will include dinner, a live auction, cash bar and a performance by Folk Soul Revival.
The group is based in Southwest Virginia and recently released its third album, “Prompting the Dapperness.” The group was named “Virginia Band of the Year” in 2011 by the Virginia Tourism Board and is known for its loyal fan following, nicknamed “The Congregation.”
The evening will benefit a great cause. Russell County Medical Center is partnering with the Russell County School System to tailor the symposium to address the issues county teachers are facing in the classroom on a daily basis. The symposium will be free, open to the entire community, and meet the re-certification requirements for teachers.
