GREENE COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – After waiving their extradition proceedings, four teenagers who led police on a murder manhunt in two states will soon be brought back to the Tri-Cities for their trial.
The Newberry County, S.C. Sheriff’s Office said they’re working with Tennessee authorities to bring the teens back to Greene County, after the teens reportedly waived extradition Monday in juvenile court.
On Thursday, police said 36-year-old Robert Blanchard was found dead in a home on Snapps Ferry Road from a gunshot wound.
Later that same day, the teens sparked a manhunt that ended in Newberry County, S.C., where the teens were arrested.
On Friday, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department filed charges against the teens.
Robert’s son, Zachary Blanchard, was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
Daniel Birchfield, Liam Lawlor and Shelby Riley were all charged in relation to helping Zachary after a crime was committed and theft over $1,000.
