Kingsport Police are searching for the man suspected of shooting another man in a restaurant parking lot Thursday morning.
In a news release Friday afternoon, police said the shooting happened about 5:15 AM Thursday in the parking lot of Perkins Restaurant, 4628 Fort Henry Drive in Colonial Heights.
A man who ran for public office in Washington County, Virginia faces multiple felony charges for allegedly lying about his military record.
Timothy Mark Mowery, 50, Bristol, was arrested late Thursday afternoon and charged with perjury, forging a document, and uttering a document.
“The investigation revealed that much of the accused’s information in regards to rank, medals, decorations, awards, citations and military education, along with specialized training and military operations in which he served, listed on his military DD 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty) was false,” said Sheriff Fred Newman.
A plan to build a nearly 100-bed apartment complex near East Tennessee State University was amended by Johnson City commissioners Thursday night.
The complex, known as The Franklin, will be located on a roughly 1.74 acre lot at 1150 West State of Franklin Road. The project is being undertaken by Coal Yard Restoration, LLC.
