School leader investigation, ETSU football stadium


I'm Josh Smith from the News Channel 11 newsroom.
Here's a quick update on some of our top stories.
The leader of an area college and is under investigation for using student labor for his personal gain.  Our Community Watchdog Nate Morabito learned Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes opened a criminal investigation into the Director of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Elizabethton.   The Sheriff says he's now trying to find out if Dean Blevins broke the law when students and teachers helped put the finishing touches on his houseboat.
It's day three of the trial of Marvin Potter in Jonesborough.  He's accused of murdering a Johnson County couple after one of them “de-friended” Potter's daughter on Facebook.   We'll have live coverage starting at 5 p.m.
We've learned that ETSU has identified two finalists for sites to build a football stadium.  At 5:30 p.m., we'll reveal the locations.
And General Motors is recalling nearly 22,000 full-size pickup trucks to fix problems with the seats.   The recall affects 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups.
