We just wrapped up our afternoon editorial meeting, so I thought I'd send out a quick alert about some of the stories we're working on this afternoon.
Twelve years after the 9/11 terror attack, Americans and people around the world are remembering the victims and honoring the Americans who were part of the military response. In Marion, Virginia, a ceremony will be held tonight at the town's Memorial Garden which includes one of the steel beams from the World Trade Center. Kylie McGivern will report live starting at 5 p.m..
The ETSU Child Study Center in Johnson City received a notice of probation after, the State of Tennessee says, young children were left alone while under the facility's care. We're working to find out what happened. Look for Melissa Hipolit's report.
Wellmont Health System confirmed it will close the Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Virginia on October 1st. The hospital blamed several factors including “Obamacare.” We're finding out what this will mean for Lee County residents and the people who worked at the hospital that's been open for more than 70 years.
