Carter County teen, 15, charged as adult in stabbing death

A Carter County teen will be charged as an adult for the stabbing death of a high school student.

Nicholas Willen, 15, faces charges of second degree murder and attempted second degree murder for the December 16, 2012 stabbing death of Elijah McKinney. The incident happened on Cash Hollow Road in Carter County.

District Attorney General Tony Clark told News Channel 11, the state decided to pursue adult charges in the stabbing death after hearing 3 hours of testimony in juvenile court last month.

Willen is expected to appear in criminal court on September 27. Second degree murder is a class A felony.
