Murder charges dismissed, jail evacuated

Good afternoon!

This is Sara Diamond in the News Channel 11 newsroom.  We've got some huge stories we're working for the newscasts this afternoon/evening.  Here's a taste:

Police charged Codey Miller back in 2009 with the murder and rape of his mother.  But today, at the request of prosecutors, a judge dismissed the case, and Codey Miller is a free man.  Nate Morabito is working this story.  He'll explain what happened.

Jail personnel in Washington County, Tennessee evacuated maximum security inmates after a carbon monoxide leak.  Lauren Haviland found out where the link originated, and talked with an inmate's family.

And, a huge boost for Niswonger Children's Hospital as a star-studded roster teed off in the Niswonger Children's Hospital Golf Classic.  We'll show you who was there, and their reaction to helping kids in the Tri-Cities region.

Plus, Nathan says the hot temperatures continue.  He'll have your forecast, and Kasey will have the latest sports of the day.

Hope you'll tune in today beginning at 5pm!
