Doctor begs for leniency, telethon weekend is here

Happy Friday!
It's Sara Diamond in the News Channel 11 newsroom.
My colleague Josh Smith is on assignment today.
Our top story : McLeod Cancer and Blood Center founder Dr. William Kincaid is owning up to his mistakes, hoping a federal judge will keep him out of prison.   The now retired doctor will be sentenced on June 10th for giving patients unapproved cancer drugs.   And he's not the only one asking for leniency.  An area Congressman and Sheriff also wrote letters on Dr. Kincaid's behalf.  Nate Morabito will have the story at 5 and 6 pm.
The region could see strong to severe storms on Sunday.   Don't miss Meteorologist Nathan Scott's forecast for the weekend.
And we invite you to join us Sunday night for the Children's Miracle Network telethon on WJHL-TV.   We'll be live on the air from 6-7 pm and 8-11pm taking your donations to improve the care of sick injured children in Tri-Cities Wellmont Hospitals.
See you soon!
Sara
