The Johnson City Police Department reports this morning that Jamarcus Jackson was apprehended yesterday in Lawrenceville, Ga. by their police department.
Jackson is currently in custody in Gwinnett County, Georgia awaiting extradition back to Johnson City.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today put a Johnson City, TN man on its list of Top Ten Most Wanted fugitives after he shot and wounded another man approximately two weeks ago.
Jamarcus Lavelle Jackson, 20, last known address 180 Grande Avenue, Johnson City, TN, is wanted by the Johnson City Police Department on one count of attempted first degree murder. On April 14, 2010, Jackson entered an apartment a shot the male victim in the hip and abdomen.
Jackson committed this offense while he was out on bond for aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges stemming from a May 2009 incident also in Johnson City, TN. When captured, his bail will be set at $100,000.
Jackson is described as a 5’11” black male weighing approximately 200 lbs. He has black hair, brown eyes, a scar on his back and a tattoo on his right arm. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Johnson City Police are looking for information in locating a man they believe shot another man, who is now in jail for assaulting his girlfriend.
On April 14 police responded to a domestic assault call at Towne Square Apartments in Johnson City. Police reports state that Keith Maurice Crawford, 22, of Elizabethton assaulted his girlfriend, 18-year-old Jalesa Harris at her apartment.
When police arrived, however, they say they found Crawford inside the apartment, where he had been shot twice. Crawford was taken to the Johnson City Medical Center and charged with aggravated assault (domestic) once he was released.
Today, an arrest warrant has been issued for Jamarcus Jackson, 20, charging him with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of Crawford.
